When the rustic came to town

The new municipal market of Mapusa grew in the paddyfields of the Comunidade and attracted agricultural produce and homemade products from the surrounding villages… and even those beyond the taluka… The beautiful sculpture on the entrance wall proclaims loudly Goan ethnicity even under western, colonial rule.
